CLEAR VISION, BRIGHT FUTURE

KREWE Foundation

The KREWE Foundation is helping change the way that New Orleans’ youth see the world. Founded in 2018, the Foundation provides access to eye care and free prescription glasses to students in New Orleans, with a goal to reach every local public high schooler in need.

GIVING BACK

THE WORLD WE ENVISION

Our Mission

When students go without regular optometrist visits, it can lead to untreated vision impairments and make for a challenging learning environment. That’s why we started the KREWE Foundation — because we believe that bright futures are built when you can see clearly.

Our mission is to provide New Orleans’ public high schoolers with updated prescriptions and thoughtfully-designed eyewear that fits well, lasts long, and looks great. By giving local students access to the proper eye care they need, the KREWE Foundation also looks to inspire students with the confidence and clarity to better succeed in and out of school.

The KREWE Foundation has renewed the partnership with Louisiana Academic Health to provide New Orleans students with complementary vision exams and prescription eyeglasses. In the 2019-2020 school year the partnership provided 600 students with prescription eyeglasses. The goal is to expand and ensure that all students within our communities receive the proper vision assistance they need.

WANNA HELP OUT?

We're giving back and changing the way New Orleans high school students see the world — inside the classroom and, hopefully, beyond.

TIMELINE

HOW THIS PARTY STARTED

What is KREWE Fête?

It all started with a question, posed by our Founder and Creative Director, Stirling Barrett, at an eyewear trade show while hoping to find potential wholesalers: Isn’t there a better way we can do this? After all, KREWE was founded on the idea that our native city of New Orleans could be the muse, embodiment and home of a high-fashion eyewear company. So why not bring our accounts back to the city that started and inspired it all?

2016

We hosted our first ever KREWE Fête, inviting press contacts and wholesale accounts alike to experience New Orleans like a local — all while showcasing our newest eyewear collections and hosting buying appointments.

2017

We expanded, inviting CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund colleagues like Adam Selman to speak on panels with Barrett and even inviting our local community into the weekend with Fête Fest, a one-day event at the historic Preservation Hall with some of our favorite local musicians.

2018

We debuted the KREWE Foundation, pivoting KREWE Fête to benefit the Foundation as its primary fundraiser. After years of deciding how exactly to give back to our home community, we stuck to what we know best — providing free glasses and eye care to public high schoolers in the city, with an aim to meet all local students in need by 2022.

2019

We continued with the KREWE Fête mission of bringing everyone together — local artists and musicians, wholesale accounts, philanthropists, community members, you name it — to raise a toast to our magical city, showcase our hand-crafted eyewear and give back to the community where it all began.

KREWE Fête

SEE THE CITY LIKE WE DO

Do New Orleans like a local

Every year, we host an event to benefit the KREWE Foundation called KREWE Fête. What began as a way to celebrate the city we proudly call home now supports our philanthropic efforts while simultaneously enveloping you in the culture of KREWE — from live music at the iconic Preservation Hall to a culinary sampler from some of the best chefs in the city, we curate every stop and experience to ensure that each Fête is one you won’t want to miss.
